Where we work in Calgary
We work across the city, but much of our work is in homes where the details matter most — the character houses of Mount Royal, Elbow Park, Britannia, Rideau and Roxboro, the infills and renovations of Altadore and Marda Loop, established southside neighbourhoods like Bel-Aire and Lake Bonavista, and the newer west-side homes of Aspen Woods, Springbank Hill, Discovery Ridge and Tuscany.
Older homes and newer homes need different things
In Calgary’s inner-city character homes, the job is often matching or restoring original trim, building in storage that respects the age of the house, and working with walls and floors that have moved over the decades. In newer homes on the west side and in the suburbs, homeowners usually want to replace builder-grade trim, doors and cabinetry with something more considered — wider casing, panelled walls, real built-ins instead of flat-pack storage.
Building for Calgary’s climate
Calgary’s dry air and chinook swings are hard on wood. Joints that are tight in August can open up by February if materials are not acclimatised and joined properly. We let materials settle in the home before installation where it matters, use glued joinery on mitres, and choose sheet goods and finishes that stay stable through big humidity changes.
Being close to the shop
Because our shop is in Calgary, site visits are easy to schedule, and if something needs adjusting during installation we can make a new part on the CNC or touch up a finish in the paint booth without holding up the job for long.
Explore finish work from Calgary homes
Our McKenzie Lake project shows wainscoting, stair details and fireplace work. The Calgary cabinetry collection brings together an island, vanity and hood cover from different homes.
For scope, materials and estimating questions, start with finish carpentry, custom built-ins, custom cabinetry or wainscoting installation.
