About this project
Fireplace walls are mostly built behind the scenes. The framing sets the depth for the insert, the TV recess, cable runs and speaker openings, and the panelling or stone goes on once that is right.
These photos come from more than one home: a white panelled media wall with a linear fireplace, a floor-to-ceiling stacked stone surround with a wood mantel, and two walls at the framing stage.
